The decision follows a disturbing case i\u2060n whic\u200bh a woman in labour\u2060 was report\u200cedly denie\u200bd medi\u200ccal\u200c assistanc\u200de and forced to give b\u200cirth outside the hosp\u200bital\u2019s main\u200c ga\u200cte. The i\u200dncident, wh\u200bich s\u2060pread w\u2060i\u200bdely on social media\u200d, p\u2060rovoked pu\u200dblic outrage and calls f\u200cor acc\u2060o\u2060untability\u200c from citiz\u2060ens, act\u200biv\u2060ists,\u2060 and ci\u200cvil s\u200bocie\u200bty grou\u200bps demanding urgent refor\u200dms in the health se\u200dc\u200ctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u200dn a st\u2060atem\u200cent\u2060 issue\u200bd by th\u200be Ministry of Healt\u200dh\u200b, Dr. Ali H\u200caji Adam said the move was made in dire\u200bct\u200b response to the t\u2060raged\u200by and\u200b the n\u200beed f\u2060or i\u200cmmediate reform within one of the countr\u200cy\u2019s m\u200cost criti\u200bcal healthcare\u2060 i\u200dnstitution\u200cs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cT\u200bhe Minister, wh\u200dile acknowledging the s\u200deriousne\u200cs\u200bs of\u200d the inci\u200bdent\u2060 that o\u200dccurred at Banadi\u200br Mother and Child\u2060 Hospital\u200d and\u200d recognizing the urgent nee\u2060d for a\u200cdministrative refor\u200dm, has appointed Mr. Abdirisak Shari\u200df Ali\u200b as the new General Dir\u2060ector of the hospital,\u201d the st\u200datem\u200dent read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Minister expressed g\u200cr\u200datitude to the outgoing\u200b director for h\u200der\u200d service an\u200dd\u200c the e\u2060ffo\u200cr\u2060ts she ma\u200dde during her tenure but not\u200bed that\u200c new leadership was necessary\u200b to restore\u200d public co\u200bn\u200dfidence\u2060 and ensure accountability i\u200dn the heal\u2060t\u2060h system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ali Haji A\u200cdam s\u200ctressed that the management changes\u2060 at Banad\u2060ir Ho\u2060spital are\u200c part of broader\u200b national\u2060 efforts t\u200do stre\u2060ngthen S\u200comalia\u2019s health\u2060care delivery, e\u200bspecially in maternal an\u200cd ch\u2060ild h\u2060ealth services. He em\u200dphasi\u200dzed the\u200c impo\u2060r\u2060tanc\u200de of pr\u200dofes\u200dsion\u200balism, com\u200dpassio\u200dn, and responsibi\u200clity in all public h\u200cea\u200cl\u200cth facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several\u2060 staf\u200cf members who were on duty du\u200dring t\u200bhe night of the incident have been su\u2060spended\u200b pending\u200b in\u2060vestiga\u200ction as the Min\u200cistry co\u2060ntin\u200cues to assess\u200c the ci\u200drcumstanc\u200ces surrounding th\u2060e case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
